The Canon Speedlite EL-10 is a mid-range portable flash unit, replacing the Speedlite 430EX-III RT. It’s designed for photographers looking to enhance their flash photography skills, offering excellent communication abilities and advanced features.
Although the EL-10 has slightly less power than the high-end EL-5 and EL-1 models, it can control up to 15 additional compatible Speedlite units. The new Multi-function connector at the EL-10's foot allows advanced communication with multi-function shoe equipped cameras, providing enhanced customization and control.
The Speedlite EL-10 is compatible only with Canon cameras featuring the Multi-function accessory shoe. It cannot be mounted or used on Canon cameras with other accessory shoe designs.
The EL-10 flash head can swivel 150º left and 180º right, and tilt up to 90º, allowing you to bounce light off surfaces for more natural lighting effects. This feature is especially useful for avoiding direct flash on subjects.
The EL-10 supports wireless flash setups, enabling creative lighting from different angles. It can be used with the ST-E3-RT Speedlite Transmitter or control up to 15 additional compatible flash units for advanced off-camera lighting.
The Multi-function shoe connector on the EL-10’s foot allows superior camera-flash coordination, including “Menu direct” and customizable button functions. Gold-plated terminals ensure reliable connections with cameras like the Canon EOS R3, R7, R10, R50, and R6 Mark II.
The EL-10 features a modern design with an easy-to-read dot-matrix LCD. It includes a Menu direct + Select dial for quick adjustments and camera-linked functions through compatible EOS R-series cameras, displaying flash settings on the camera's LCD for easy access.
The EL-10 offers three Custom Flash modes (C1, C2, C3) for quickly switching between registered settings. This is ideal for dynamic environments where lighting conditions change rapidly, allowing seamless transitions between different flash modes and settings.
Canon’s Camera Connect app allows for wireless control of flash settings, shutter release, and photo review. This is particularly useful for multi-flash setups, enabling adjustments from a smartphone without touching the camera or flash units.
